I saw in this months Mother Earth News a different plan for bat houses.  they use a combination of burlap and old blankets hung from rafters in a barn for bat house.  The blankets are used on outside as insulation and the burlap is hung over strips of wood to act as spacers.   Has anyone tried anything like this

Gran, I read that too.......but I would be worried about parasites.........I'm sure it would be effective at least for  a short period of time.........might be a good way to initially attract bats then later a more permanent house could be mounted........

That looks like the one I saw.  Too bad I don't have a barn that they are already in.  It might be worth a try.
