This newbie to your forum has had a problem finding a good mesh for the little critters to use as a gripping surface for the interior of bat houses. Searches of the web and different Bat conservation organizations has yielded some results. In my quest to find some of the suggested materials I accidentally ran across this in the garden center at my neighborhood LOWE'S hardware store. It was supposed to be in the screen doors section. I know that metal screening isn't recommended, neither is fiberglass mesh, but this Pet resistant fiberglass mesh has a very heavy vinyl (or plastic of some kind) coating on it and I believe it may be ideal for the task.
It's called PET-D-FENCE and is a charcoal colored pet resistant replacement screen for doors, and is manufactured by New York Wire, P.O. Box 866, Mt. Wolf, PA 17347. Part # 70587. I paid $13.49 for a 36" x 84" roll of it. I wish it was a little less expensive, but it is enough to do a fairly big bat house and I believe it to be good stuff. I hope you all can check it out and maybe give some feed back on the suitability of this material.
I was so enthralled with it I had to join this forum to get the word out in case it wasn't widely known about already.
