Bernie, you asked how I deal with guano? Here it is.........just a board at a slight angle which deflects guano away from my house. It doesn't stop all of it but it does help. One drawback is it blocks the view up into  the back crevice. After I took this picture I cleaned it off and gave it to my cousin for his garden.
